Global Styles is not the problem. Keeping Styles updated is. Why quibble?
People use a variety of tools to create styles. They do it for their own purpose because the styles they find on UserStyles are not updated or simply not adequate to what they are looking for. This is the real challenge facing this site. Updating styles matters, and not the type of styles applied global or otherwise.
By happy people are still contributing styles, and stop limiting them because they are 'global'. A conversation about Globally Applied styles needs to happen cause it prevents contribution. Some rather create newly global styles as opposed to updating old ones.
