Hi together

What do i have to make to "about:newtab" work again?
Working in FF!

  • about:config

    browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled > false.
  • Thank you joao!
    I was struggling with this since the new firefox version.
    I have one more problem with that. I would like to make about:newtab dark but it doesn't work. I'm certainly missing something.

    I created a style with this CSS :

    body {
    background-color: black;

    and with the url : about:newtab

    Do you know what is wrong or missing?
  • You can't do this in stylish/stylus. You must use userContent.css
    @-moz-document url("about:newtab") {
    body {
    background-color: black!important;
  • It worked until firefox 57 so why not now?

    You haven't heard the news? Firefox 57 moved to a more industry standard add-on interface, and disabled the old "do anything you want to the browser" interface. So extensions can not touch the user interface or certain internal pages any more.

    That said, extensions can completely replace the new tab page, so I don't know why there can't be a little styling allowed. Maybe that will be liberalized in a future version.
  • Ok, now I know that I don't have another choice than using usercontent.css. Thanks
  • FVD speed dial is a pretty good addon imo if you want a new tab replacement. Been using it since last year.

    Though I see many prefer a blank new tab or custom homepage for it. Depends on people :)

    I already just made a usercontent file but I'll give it a try at work. Thanks.

    Edit : If someone wants a userContent.css ready to use you can take mine : https://pastebin.com/2xUJj2yz
