I was on a old version so I didn't worry about the changes, but now that it has auto updated I can see how horrendous it is, wtf is with the gigantic long white space, with all that shitty space you could have put the 'edit/activate/delete' buttons at the bottom where the 'weekly installs' are shown, because end users will always want to know what the weekly installs are right?! no you flying pancake! hovering for those important options is tedious to do.
Hi Rahimichi, As we try to answer the needs of all of our users, we expect that sometimes some features will seem less relevant to certain users, while found very helpful by others.
If you feel strongly about Stylish and want to have more say about where it's headed, you're more than welcome to join the beta group.
I do want to ask you that in the future you'll avoid using inappropriate language in this forum. As we move forward to a civilized environment where everyone feel comfortable to join the conversation, we're going to be removing posts containing language like that.
Version 1.7.1 - Bug fixes; Removed backup feature and Downloads permission;
-------
Why did you remove the backup feature :/ bring it back please...
This is temporary. Since many users didn't appreciate the additional permission required for this feature, what we'll do is upload a version with optional permission that will be triggered only if you'll use the feature. We thought this will be the most effective solution for everyone. Should be live sometime today or latest tomorrow.
We've just released version 1.7.2 which includes the backup feature again, but this time with selective permission - meaning only if you use the feature, the permission will be requested.
My browser (chromium) has the version 1.7.2 of the userstyles plugin. But it is not practical, not nice, not fast and not minimal anymore. In short terms: I hate it! How can I get the old userstyles back and how can I deactivate updates/betas FOR EVER?
Hello, and thank you for maintaining Stylish. After much back-and-forth with your community, you're re-introducing features that make it useful for folks like me, who use it as a professional developer tool, as well as people who use it for fun.
Unfortunately, I think I've spotted a bug, although I am uncertain that I have characterized it completely…
Installed styles that match a page via RegExp do not appear in the Installed Styles tab. I have confirmed this by adding "URLs on this domain" to a style that was not showing up, causing it to show up.
With these settings…
… the style "[LW] fa-slash" appears:
With these settings, it does not:
I'd be happy to work with you to further characterize this issue.
Hi again, "NatalieH." I have another bug to report:
The installed styles listed in the pull-down are not in the same alphabetical order as in the manage page. This may seem a small thing, but I have 225 styles installed (I use Stylish HEAVILY for my work as a user experience director), so being able to reliably scroll to the right one quickly is important to me.
Please display the installed styles in the correct order.
Just saw the updated version on my Chrome. Well... This is The UPGRADE...
Batch export/restore option is great. But: 1) import DOESN'T WORK with non-Latin symbols!!! All those symbols become something like «Ð¿Ð½ÐµÐµ и ÐºÐ¾Ð½Ñ Ñ Ð°Ñ Ñ Ð½ÐµÐµ» after import. 2) batch import MUST be user selectable.
(BTW: I guess, it is better to name backups as YYYY-MM-DD, not as DD-MM-YYYY)
Nice new UI. But, please, add an options (1) to hide preview boxes if preview pic is not available and (2) to hide all previews (and show it on hover, maybe).
Additionally, there is no way now to forcibly update style from userstyles.org without prior uninstallation of style.
The old UI was fine, I was happy with it and you ruined it. Where are the active styles?
Notice that there are two tabs, one for discovering and installing styles and one for managing installed styles (meaning the 'active styles' you've asked about).
Changes are usually hard to get used to. I suggest you give the new UI a try and gradually upload your feature suggestions on the relevant thread in the forum to help us continue and fine tune Stylish.

I saw that Justin already answered your comment on the Chrome store, so I'll only repeat his suggestion to vote on the listed features on the Stylish trello board, since it's relevant to everyone here too: https://trello.com/b/xzSUbdNv/stylish-features-list
The new version is terrible, it takes too much space, my own not available styles without thumbnails look weak.
If only she acted improved, I might I thought about getting used to. But it does not work: - Do not show the proposed styles (only white background) - Button to show more, always shows the results for 'google' - No shows all installed styles (tab "Installed Styles")
As others have pointed out, it looks kind of awful. First thing I noticed was the new logo and thought; 'Why the f*** do I have a Skype addon installed?' I like the backup feature. It's amazing. Previously had to export a style to Mozilla Format and then copy it to google drive or sth. Now I can backup every single style at once. Nice.
But the UI is terrible. It wastes SO MUCH SPACE. PLEASE add an option to disable the previews. Most of my styles I have customized or made from scratch so the previews aren't available at all. Even better if you just add the old UI back as an option. Also what's with the order of the styles?? It used to show currently activated styles first and after that in an alphabetical order. Now it's just a complete mess.
So, just undo the UI change and all will be awesome.
Backup feature is good.. UI changes are bad.. I don't want to browse random styles, I only care about what I've installed. If I want new styles I'll come here to userstyles.org and find it myself. Bad bad bad..
A couple things. In the Chrome version it would be nice to see the touched date (created/ updated) for the style, along side its download figure. I try to avoid older ones or not updated ones. And also for chrome, an option to go to the style (to check it out) you click it it installs and I tend to like to check them out at their web location a bit first. Thank you.
The complaints and bad reviews about data mining from SimilarWeb( A data mining company), are not going to go away. Is there no better other way to continue development of Stylish without such associations like with SimilarWeb. Not possible now I guess.
I still have 100+ styles, with custom ones. Across all the major browsers, matched where possible. The new features like backup are useful, for ease of use. Just not the 'other' stuff potential data mining of some, limited data. And the extra wide ranging permissions. Does not sit well with me, not at all.

I can confirm, sheets I've written that match only by regexp are never displayed in the installed list tab.

The new version was released only to 10% of the users, as I wrote in the announcement. Since we identified some minor bugs, we're still waiting with releasing it to 100% of the users, but it should happen by the end of this week. I went over the bugs you've reported and tried to reproduce them with no success. Can you maybe send us more details to contact@userstyles.org so we can try and find out what the issue is? Screenshots are always welcome, included steps to reproduce. Thanks!
As per request I have attached images showing 7 installed styles for Youtube in manager window. The popup only displays 5 regardless of activation state. (Three combined images here because 5 items need scrolling) Another image shows the HTML of the popup listing only 5 styles.
Steps to reproduce: Have more than 5 styles installed for a website.
Edit: Looking at this closer I realise this is the bug pointed out by land.
Installed styles that match a page via RegExp do not appear in the Installed Styles tab.
As it so happens the two styles missing from my popup uses regex matching. They are applied if activated through manager, so it seems the popup is at fault here.

I hear you man and we're already making steps to improve the UI. The point of working with a beta group is that you guys can help us to better understand your needs and then we'll make the needed improvements. I'm not sure if there's still an open spot on the beta group, but I suggest that if you want to take a more active role in how Stylish looks like, you contact Natalie at contact@userstyes.org and ask to join the beta group. If there's a spot, she'll let you know.
Love the new changes. Please update Safari's extension as well. Thank you :)>-
Thanks Gary! We'll reach Safari at some point. I invite you to vote on the Stylish public trello board to vote up on this item, if you want it to be prioritized higher.

Thanks Dana! We added a feature to the pipeline that will link to the style page from the title of the style. I like your idea of showing also the last updated date. We'll add it to the trello board too and see if it's popular or not.
After the popup appears, the time it takes for the installed styles to be populated is a little long. They don't all appear at the same time, they're gradually populated one by one with what looks like some animation (maybe jquery?) Can this be sped up up or removed? I don't this it's entirely necessary for the installed list, for the library maybe. I already know what styles I have installed. That tab is used for turning off and on installed styles, preferably quickly. One idea would be a setting in options/manager to disable animations for people who prefer function over aesthetics.
Well bye bye to this extension, painfully slow on chrome, absolutely painful waiting to edit my style as hovering is pretentious and annoying to access the edit buttons, as soon as you open the extension pop-up you have that dumb delay so it can show you other available styles, its annoying that you have to click again to the next tab for your own styles when that should be shown first not the other way round, bye bye CHUNKY tell me when you go on a major diet, switching over to the stylus fork. Adios!
