  • Well, from all that do I see a good reminder of the value of using quote in preserving the integrity of a thread.

  • A sort of integrity, I suppose. The screenshot doesn't correspond to the code in the OP.
  • Yeah, when the OP's follow-up comments can be changed, it is only a sort of integrity.

    ● It means... Jason please write up blacklist of forum tags so Barbie can use her tags.

    ● I think it means "I'm done here. Skip this thread. Do not continue with further reading and posting responses in this particular thread".
Because... it seems he never posts responses again in any of the particular threads AFTER that marking.
However... with that theory... seems not with this thread.

My apologies, the missing name of the person being quoted appeared forum-wide. A new upgrade, I'm assuming.

  • 2.0.0b3 is out, see first post for details.
  • Love the dark theme option, and the Preview checking for errors fix.
  • edited November 2014 Firefox
    Jason,
i just tested S2 in a new profile and Preview button works, thanks. But how do you get out of the preview now? Also, since the Preview button does the same thing Check for errors does, shouldn't you delete the Checkforrrors button? Or make it into Disable Preview button?
  • Also, what about the editor window always opening in some humongous size and half buried under my monitor? I see only top half of the editor and have to move and resize it every single time. What's up with this? Can you please fix this, TIA!

hey for anyone wanting an alternative to devtools dark theme, have done a dark theme for 0b2 & 0b3 here

also Jason, not sure if its your department to fix, but notice with the autocomplete popup it shouldnt be highlighting richlistitems when hovered aswell as selected, as you can only scroll up/down to select, not by clicking with mouse, so bad practice to let it highlight on hover (i didnt even use it for the first month in Fx29 thinking it broken). Anyway the solutions to simply add the rule
    #devtools_autoCompletePopup > richlistbox > richlistitem:hover:not([selected]) {
    background-color: transparent !important; }
  • CodeMirror throws when it tries to create a RegExp from a search string that isn't a regexp; that line should be in a try ... catch block which returns the string on fail.

  • When using window mode the vertical height of the editor is shrinking approx 2 code lines each time it is opened.
  • > Removed ability to switch to edit window when installing a style.

wut? That's a no go for me. Goodbye new versions of stylish. I hope old one will work for long enough, because otherwise I'll have to switch to userContent.css and userChrome.css :(

    I test the new version.

Why i can't edit my styles with it ?

When i want modify a style, it open the edit windows without no code.

    I forgot something?

Another thing, the edit windows can't be resized horizontally (Vertically , that's good).

Yes , i forgot to delete the old Stylish Custom!
    :-)

  • I have suggestion - can new Stylish helps people to search styles from Stylish with words? You can just open Stylish menu and have an option not only for «Search styles for %S», but you can input some words, like «dark blue», for example. Then we get line like «http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/all/http://www.wikipedia.org/ dark+blue» (I use %20esi :)
If you can add some words to favorite, you can makes your favority author or style...
    Thanks.

    Try this:
    1. Click the Stylish toolbar icon and "Find styles for this site..."
    2. Type "dark blue" into the Userstyles search box
    3. Click the "Advanced" link to show the search options
    4. Click the "Search" button to "Find [dark blue] styles for this site..."
By default, advanced search will only look for styles for the same site.

@JasonBarnabe: The subcategory isn't a #category-select option on individual style pages, but it should be.

Not sure. Anything come up in Browser Console?

    Works fine here.

    Not seeing this either.

Had a feeling that reply was coming. image It is a consistent behavior for me on 2 diff computers when utilizing the "Restore Down" window size but it's easy enough to pull the window back down to resize periodically, so isn't a big issue.

dont think its bad enough to drop S2 completely but was it really necessary to remove edit before install from Firefox Stylish ? i still use 1.4.3 on my main profile, still having that being one of the reasons. but it still irritates me nolonger having autocomplete so sticking with S2 in a few profiles whatever the case

btw another sorely missed feature is #stylish-manage-standalone, i use it all the time in the sidebar cause the addons page equivalent sidebar or not takes ages to load & always freeze on the main profile (obviously cause of a slow hdd) but #stylish-manage-standalone never does, opening in a quarter the time. Did notice the point about S2 being lighter on addons manager, but havent tried it on the only profile (hundreds of styles) a problem with 1.4.3, and seems to be the addons manager itself cause every tab freezes

Can you tell me exactly what you're doing, step by step?
  • Redoing a Step by step:

Set up new user acct. Installed 2.0.0b4. Installed from US.o 3 random styles. Nothing else.

Opened about:config and changed editorWindowMode to 1.
-Settings for WindowPersist read width:800 height:600

Opened about:addons. Clicked edit on first style. Editor opened the style in "Restore Down" window size on line 25.
-Settings for WindowPersist are width:752 height:492

Closed editor. Clicked on edit -same style. Editor opened the style on line 23.
-Settings for WindowPersist are width:656 height:446

Closed editor. Clicked on edit for same style again. Editor opened the style on line 20.
-Settings for WindowPersist are width:640 height:410

Closed editor. Clicked edit on different style. Editor opened the style on line 20.
-Settings for WindowPersist are width:640 height:410

Closed editor. Clicked edit on 2nd style again. Editor opened the style on line 18.
-Settings for WindowPersist are width:624 height:374.

Pull down editor, stretch width -start again.
  • It was a Windows-specific thing. Will be fixed in the next version.

As mentioned elsewhere, having the editor open in a new tab combined with Electrolysis support makes it hard to pass non-string data to the editor. If someone comes up with a way to do it, I'd happily revive this feature.
  • What do i need to do to stop this madness?! In one of my profiles, i keep getting update available for one style and have to uncheck Update box every single time.
    image

All exts. set to manual update as well as the browser yet, every so often the 'update available' for this one particular style pops up. Is there some other place/thing i need to do to get it working (other than uninstalling the style)?

ok noworries, is stylish manage standalone out of the question for the time being too?
  • I don't think there's anything stopping it from working technically, I just don't have the interest to support it. Someone should be able to revive it in a custom version if they choose.
