Coralize all Web Addresses

edited August 2007 in Style Development
Does anyone know how to automatically add the ending ".nyud.net" to all URLs in the address bar.
I want to be able to use the Coral cache for every site I go on.
I would also like Youtube and Metacafe videos to be loaded from Coral cache. There is already a script that does this for Youtube - http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9151
Also, does anyone know if adding ".nyud.net" will make some sites slower instead of faster?

  • I know nothing about changing the end of URLs - have you checked the settings of Firefox? I know you can have it set so hitting enter tries to put .com at the end, perhaps you could change that?

I believe this completely depends on the response speed of .nyud.net and your internet. Whichever is slower will determine the load speed.

    Not with Stylish/CSS
  • the about:config entry you are probably talking about is the alternate suffix the preference name is: browser.fixup.alternate.suffix
rather than using the default '.com' you might be able to put '.nyud' but i am not positive
  • No, the about:config entry does not work.
But, isn't it possible to use Stylish to have Youtube videos load from the Coral cache.
This Greasmonkey script is able to do so - http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9151
  • You can use -moz-binding property to bind javascript code to the address bar that will coralize the url. Go read the tutorial, this stuff is easy. I'm not interested in the coral project, so you're on your own now, good luck :)
