  • Now, maybe you can figure the sorting someday (sort alphabetically in the Export window).
    I'll go try Import again.
  • sorting trees seems to be too much hassle, but i made it sort by name before it populates the list so that should work good enough
  • Stylish-Custom-0.1.9.xpi
auto sort import/export lists by name
fixed a bug with select all
  • That's it! It's done now!
Thanks ChoGGi! Next time i'm in Canada, i'll bring you ... a rock (i'm in the Rockies). Awesome job!
(you can relax now, i don' think i have any wishes left ;-)
  • :)
i go hiking in the rockies near calgary, so i'm good for rocks (beer on the other hand is always welcome)

    where's your paypal button?
( i can't bring you beer from US, you deserve better WASP Diving Knife )
  • i don't have paypal, just donate to the site if you want
  • Yeah! We should all donate to the site!
  • how is the site doing anyways? i notice it's a lot more stable for one.
the ads do much for upkeep or is it out of your own pocket usually?

not so i usually drink water
  • ChoGGi: extensions.stylish.editOnInstall = true and Stylish-Custom don't play well together. Fixable?
  • probably i was a bit lazy about it :)

Yeah, I seem to have cracked the code of how to make it stable. It restarts once a day in the (my) evening, but other than that it seems fine. I've been in Stylish mode lately so I haven't been adding features much. Maybe I'll switch modes soon.

The ads do cover the hosting costs, but considering the amount of time I put in it, it's not a well-paying job at all :)

Well, in that case american beer will do just fine! :-)
  • Right - there was that story about the US brewers congress, where the members met afterwards in a pub, and everybody ordered a beer of his own brand. Just the guest member from Guiness ordered a coke. So the Millers guy asked him why he doesn't trust his own beer. Answer of the Guiness guy: He thought when everybody drinks alcohol free, he must do so as well... Whistle

  • Well, that was just the "light version". In the harder one, the Guiness guy answers "If noone drinks beer, I didn't want to break ranks" Tongue

ah yes i do seem to recall you mentioning that

it seems not, maybe some value added services for paying members? say access to the complete list of styles, custom styles with support for an amount of time, or say unlimited style size?

i'd say my favorite beer joke would be
[Q] Why is American beer like sex in a canoe?
    [A] They're both f**king close to water...

Brilliant idea, IMO! even though some will nag and complain like they did (do?) about Frank Lion charging for his theme(-s?) ... free source, free software ... Just put a 'fine print' somewhere, like Hey people, the complaint department is above.
But then you'll have to fix the 'paid' portion of the site, you know. Like:
    1. search - make search for users available, add search by date (added/updated last mo., 3 mo., etc).
    2. Linkification - within descriptions and clicking on a style title here should show the style's page on USO and all discussions.
    3. Save textareas!... like this post: did a preview, went to get that smiley there ^ for ChoGGi, pasted/previewed, my post is gone! should have a Back button or, as ChoGGi would say 'Unpreview' to the previous textarea state.

Ooops, sorry ChoGGi, forgot what thread i'm in. If you want, move it appropriately.

Right, i have it (disabled) and use Textsaver instead (just a personal pref) but that's beyond the point, we shouldn't need an ext. to save our unfinished posts here, agree?
  • Let's say: It would be nice if it works without. I agree with you that enxtensions are not the answer to all questions - I also try to reduce the amount I've got installed instead of increasing it, and don't like the lazy answer Tongue

I'd almost pay for LiveJournal-size avatars (or larger), esp. w/ SVG[Z] support. I'd definitely help contribute to get better forums and a better style directory.

Of course, now that I think about the first bit, I'm probably going to extend userstyles.org - Sea green to style the forums, and enlarge the avatars, since they're hosted off-site anyhow. Right after I figure out how to overdraw obsolete style links in the list with a nice, minimalist "obsolete style" graphic.

  • couldn't think of anything else to add and i haven't figured out the update all problem yet, so

    Stylish-Custom-0.2.0.xpi
    fixed the style install dialog

Thanks for the update! As far as i'm concerned, you should go straight to 1.0.
  • Great extension, good job! Looking forward to further improvements :)

What improvements? It's 'ready' - the man said 'couldn't think of anything else to add'. Me either (and i'm the one who asked for a good half of those improvements ;-)
  • actually i'm working on 0.2.1, just some bug fixes and clean up though :)

i'm sure someone will come up with something to add...
  • ...or i will
    Stylish-Custom-0.2.1.xpi
turns out i forgot to move the update all function when i was rearranging the files
    shrunk some code
merge and un/comment: keeps selected text afterwards

added find/replace (it's in the toolbar)
type what you want and press Find, Once or All (it can also only replace selected text)
  • Thanks! Love that last one - selected text stays selected, awesome. But the Find is awkward. I show toolbar at all times and to use Find i have to close it? Can you maybe shrink the URLbar and place it there (that is just below where it is now) and show it if toolbar (that is, if toolbar is checked to show, Find should show to)?
    TIA!
